The solder can be any standard RoHS tin/silver soldering wire, we recommend using one with flux in the core that will help a lot the soldering. The soldering iron is a from a Weller rework station, but any kind of electronic soldering iron with a thin tip will do the job.

Yes, this board is a standalone internet radio receiver, it decode MP3. It will require a computer for the configuration and the radio selection, the computer can be anywhere on the network and you will require a web browser and JAVA to connect the radio board webserver and set up the configuration.

i was reffering at the first tool used, not at the soldering iron.... it is a hot air soldering iron? the glass container has flux inside it? thx
