  • Stoney: The one and only Shaun Murphy...still kickin' in 2011...just released her second solo album, "The Trouble with Lovin", (genre: blues, soul)...Shaun is a living legend and one of the greatest female singers to come out of Detroit in the last forty years. Search for her and find her band's website...can not post it here..thx!!!!

  • Hey, the name of the group was Stoney and Meatloaf. Motown fired Meat but kept Stoney, (the one and only Shaun Murphy) under contract. After years as a lead singer with Little Feat and years with Bob Seger, Shaun has just released her second album, (genre: Blues), "The Trouble With Lovin'"..Oct. 2010...Shaun is an \amazing talent...still kickin it...search for her...oxo. searcj

  • she has a nice sweet voice

  • Lovely..

  • Bad,

I can't answer the question. A lot went down when Motown Detroit folded. The re-release of the Stoney and Meatloaf album was an embarrasment. I was never sure who was responsible for putting that one together, but I do know it was done by the L.A. operation. Terrible!

  • Query to Terashirma:

What of the (In the can till '78) "Who Is The Leader Of The People?" (by Zesses/Fekaris)? It's obvious that considerable lyrical content is absent from 'finished' product..in juxtaposition to the '72 Edwin Starr version.

Also, does the Starr version run longer than what was on 45? Starr's fades out midway whist Meat's version goes to a full stop.

    Inquiring minds wanna kow, m8's...

  • When Meat hits that long note near the end of the song, it was so loud, more of his voice was coming through the studio glass than the speakers. We broke down laughing and told him he had radiators for lungs.

  • Bad,

Glad to know you loiked this one also. It was written by Ray Monette and Mike Campbell.

  • Another Rave-Fave of mine.
