i think this line was subtle reference to the whole batman movie franchise .think about it if batman hadn't 'fallen' in batman and robin .there would have been no Nolan trilogy

By fall he didnt really meant physical fall, by "fall" he meant when something bad happens to you, you should get up and move forward. It was just portraied with Bruice physical fall.
