Tivy has produced some great teams, from the State Finalist in 1936, to the State Semi-Final teams in 1987, 1988, 2008 & 2009. They had a great run this year that was cut short by a crappy early draw of Lake Travis. As far as coaching back then Donnie Laurance was a good coach, took Tivy from 2-8 and 3-7 performances to 11-2-1 and 13-1, 7-3 and 9-2 (1990) before he gave up and retired on duty. Unlike most of these Austin or San Antonio schools Tivy isn't blessed with a large talent pool. TFND

@Trumpetz811 and not to mention that 2010 football team that if it wasn't for Lake Travis would be first time State Champions. Too bad we beat Steele by 10 this year and they ended up winnin the 5A Division II State Title

I feel sorry for Tivy, they've always been just one or two pieces from a state title. Their best chance was from '88-,90, but they had a suck-ass coach in Donny Lawrence. If they would've had the coach they have now, they would have won back to back titles, they had the biggest, fastest, and strongest team yet
