@Amazingred12 Your comment is from a year ago, but I have an answer! He plays a Dan Electro because it's light on his back. His secret to spicing up his tone is turning bass and treble almost cranked on the amp and turning the mid down close to 0

@Amazingred12 So he got the Danelectro cuz it's one of the lightest basses around. In lieu of a quality, hardwood bass, an incredible amount of sustain (and much more) is sacrificed - BUT!

A) being punk rock, sounding like the right kind of shit can still sound like gold

B) being an industry mogul, every single other piece of equipment in his setup is top-quality and professionally tuned = he can more than "get away" with it.

@Amazingred12 LOL did you really just say that that Danelectro bass is "sweet", presumably because of how you think it's "like" a Rickenbacker? lol it's a SUPER CHEAP and CRAPPY bass. I heard the story goes that some handful of years ago, the nice (expensive) bass guitar mike used - all of which are made from one type of fine and dense hardwood or another - made his back start to feel like sh*t during/from touring, ya know jumping around for an hour every night for weeks on end.
