For nearly two years, Tara Nicole Stout battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She faced her disease with grace, honesty, humor and courage. Tara shared much of her journey in this video.

On September 26, 2007, Tara died. She was ten years old.

Despite incredible advances in the treatment of childhood cancers, not every child survives. Tara's story reminds us that we must never rest until cures for this, and other diseases of childhood, are found. That is our responsibility to her and to all the children we serve.

We honor Tara's memory and we thank her for giving us this extraordinary gift, Diary of Hope.

  • may tara rest in peace <3 I am so sorry for your loss. She was such an inspirational, beautiful girl with hope. She did not deserve to go through this, nobody does. She is now a sweet angel in heaven. God bless her for staying so strong and having such bravery. <3
