Nate Koch, piano. My favorite part of this slow movement of the 3rd sonata is the watery section in the middle, transitioning around 2:25 ... it's just so beautiful to me! I also like the climax of that same section (growing from around 4:48), and the amazing chord progression leading to the final section here: 8:25.
Oh. And the penultimate chord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell yeah! (9:09)
This is beyond praise. There's a million things about it I could laud, but the way you play the rising major second in the second measure after it switches to E major is one of the 3 best things I've ever heard in my entire life! Absolutely killer!!
It is the quintessence of what makes Chopin a genius and you have an uncanny and thrilling understanding of it!
