The 2g is a lot better. No extra rubber, typing isn't bad, and the protector is smaller. One more downside is that it attracts lint very easily and smudges really quick on the screen.

The big hole in the back is for the logo, pretty lame if you ask me, but its cool for some people.

the hole is for the brightness sensor. If u turn auto brightness on then put ur finger over that hole you will see the brightness change.
