Grover's Number Special - iPhone app for kids from IDEO: Toy Lab

Seeing Grover's Number Special was the first time that I have seen Grover in years and it really made me laugh. Oh, to be a kid again!

This app was designed for kids (age 2-5) and teaches motor skills, counting, recognition and more.

First, you watch lovable Grover Waiter in original Sesame Street video as he torments his regular customer "Fat Blue." Then you begin building the meals by tilting your iPhone or iPod Touch as food items fall from the top of the screen and you try to catch them on your tray. The app counts the items as it falls, so I can really how this app teaches kids and helps them learn, just like Sesame Street did all those years and I didn't even notice! It's great for kids and definitely nostalgic for adults.

This is the first app from Sesame Street and IDEO: Toy Lab released on the iPhone and iPod touch.
