We've all been there, whether it's someone teaching us or teaching someone else. It's a beautiful and fulfilling life experience equal to witnessing your child's first steps. We checked out the bike yesterday and he bought it today. It's a Black 2009 Ninja 250r with 2,700 miles, PUIG windscreen, Full Yoshi Exhaust System, Disc Lock, Cryptonite Chain, Targa Fender Eliminator, Stage 2 Jet for only $3,000 and let me tell you... It sounds AMAZING! The growl is not only deep but LOUD. I was rev happy the entire time I rode it back for him. We took it to a nearby parking lot right away for his first lessons and yes, I recorded everything.

When he first sat on my bike two days ago, he was in love. When he first saw his potential future bike yesterday, he was even more in love. When he learned how to ride his bike today, he was at a loss for words. I'm not a MSF teacher so I missed a few things here and there, but eventually caught up. I tried recording as much of my comments as possible, but I forgot a few times in the heat of the battle. He did pretty good since he already knows how to drive manual and understands the way it works. I had a more difficult time since I've never driven manual before and only studied it.

We still have a lot more to work on. I need to get him ready for stop and go traffic, more slow turns, U-turns for his road test. Still need to teach him counter-balance, counter-steer, leaning and cornering. I've only been riding for around 2 months, and I know there's still a lot for me to learn.

  • so I have a question when your coming to stop say from like 4th gear do you have to shift back down to 1st and then stop, or can you like pull in the clutch from 4th and just start braking and then start shifting down when your still?

  • @BlinginTom Either way, depending how safe it is. Usually, you always want to stay in gear and if you decide to hold the clutch in and brake, make sure you get to 1st gear before you stop. Sometimes it doesn't shift all the the way down when you're stopped.

  • question what happenes if you were to "stall" when ur in say 3 or 4th gear on the road

  • @joe31432 Are you in motion or standing still?

  • @we5leyz in motion say ur driving and ur in a higher gear and u shift and miss the clutch gas maneuver ... does it stall the bike or nothing happens u just keep goin?

  • @joe31432 as long as you're going fast enough it can't stall

  • +1 starting on the right size bike. This is a good video for potential new riders who think they can just get on and go. If this was a 600, we'd probably be viewing another crash video! This is why we start small! Nice work.

  • i wish i had u for a teacher. (No Homo). But ur teaching is just as good as an MSF course.

  • @joe31432 If you put the bike in 3rd gear and hold in the clutch, then run with the bike and quickly release the clutch it will start by itself. So therefore as long as your going fairly fast u cant stall.

  • its funny to watch the trust issues with the bike its so hard to trust the bike that it wont fall. it takes time to keep your leg up and trust the bike will do what you want

  • when pulling up to a stop light you should always engine break because if the light turns grren you are already in gear and can just go but if your in 1st with clutch in now you have to scramble to find the right gear. plus your ready for a quick escape when you engine break unlike when you dont. a second can be the difference between life and death.

  • does he have a wider rear tire on his bike? because it looks like he has a 150-70-17 rather than Kawasakis stock rear tire which is130.. the 150 makes the bike look beefier which I like.

  • 3:17 was the higharchy of the biker world hahah AWESOME !

  • @2fast4uspartan no the only thing that controls the front wheel is the brakes. It gas nothing to do with the engine or gears.

  • Ohh shit haha i just realised this is whitestone. I ride an all black zx6r around the main st area lol.

  • should of told him to not put his foot down when turning ha i did it once and it scared the hell out of me when i figured out what happens if you put it down too far lol

  • also like the aftermarket exhaust

  • does anybody know what kind of bike drove by at 3:15.i love the sound of it
