Battle for Modane

Still on " la ligne de la Maurienne " a new video between St Michel de Maurienne and Modane. I had catch fews trains fighting the grade (Max: 3%) and following the " Arc " river.

Toujours sur la ligne de la Maurienne, une nouvelle vidéo entre St Michel de Maurienne et Modane. J'ai filmé quelques trains s'attaquant aux fortes rampes ( max: 30 °/°°) et glissant à côté de la rivière " Arc".

@julosx Yup, en faite dans le coin c'est assez courant, c'est sure que la pousse est bien utile en Maurienne !

Great video, is that passenger carriage for the truck drivers, and why is it in between the locos ?

@cagorrie Thanks, yes for the truck driver, "AFA" trains run between "Aiton-Bourgneuf" in France to "Orbassano" in Italy and come back.

The position between both locos is the only one that you can see here, it's for a better reversibility of the engines and the car from the head to the tail of the convoy.

@kibidk Thanks, yes exactly ! EWS run some trains there, with the high declivity of the line they need push/pull action for heavy trains and it's a NICE SHOW ! ^^
