Canadian Pacific General Electric locomotives have taken Southern Ontario by storm. Although they are not typically the most popular locomotive among railfans there are still some interesting GE locomotives among the fleet. In this video you will see various CP GE AC4400 CW locootives that had an interesting past, such as CP 9777 which was the star locomotive in the motion picture "Unstoppable". LRF Video Productions

  • Ryan,

Interesting collage of the 9777. Looking forward to seeing Unstoppable; much of it was shot very near where I grew up in Pennsylvania. Love to hear those Canadian-tuned horns!

Really creative camera technique in shooting 9554 as it approached! Your camera's microphone is sensitive too -- can hear him throttling down as he approaches.

    Excellent job, as always.

  • Hey Dave

Thanks for the kind comment. 'Unstoppable' should be a fun movie to watch! And thanks for complimenting my camera work.

  • 9777 was involved in a crossing accident just after repaint thats why it has a solid black plow on it and the other 3 used in the movie have a yellow and black plow

  • That's unfortunate, that really made it a noticeable locomotive.

  • 4400 that's ridin in style

  • whoot whoot! soo line !!

  • I grew up around the GE AC4400CW and seeing one always makes me happy

  • Perfect Video.Super scenery.Great 5***** and my favorite

  • I was always told that CP was tired of making the beaver logo on locomotives because of taggers and burn marks from GE's or they had the money but didn't have the time because the unit is needed in service right away. To them it was a money waster. Besides, yard units wasn't going to get the beaver logo anyway. Because they are yard units, they wasn't meant to go far or long distances. I noticed that yard units will say CP Rail System but no dual flags. All normal units had dual flags.

  • I like how you shot the last scene through the brushes, great video

  • Good videos and power and nice catch of the SOO and an Auto-Max. Also, those first trains were really short!

  • @LocalRailfan Probably, considering it's also on the nickel. Yeah, block script isn't much. CP should at least have something else added to it, or bring back the beaver. It's my favourite paint scheme, and does represent heritage.
