Chainsaw safety is very important. We've been making Chainsaw Chaps right here in the USA for years. Chaps are a must have when working with chainsaws because it could save your leg in a bad situation.
you dont need all that crap to go cut firewood... i have uncles that worked as loggers for 20 years or more... and have never had an accident... these are guys running chainsaws 4 feet long maybe bigger[been a while since ive seen one of their saws] hell i learned how to run a chainsaw at 10 or 11 years old... 7 or 8 years latter no accidents... just dont be stupid and you will be fine

Oh I know what it is I've experienced it. I've got a Stihl MS260 (it's a 50cc saw) and I've taken off the stock low-kickback chain and replaced it with a normal one (because it cuts better). And it does kick, but it's nothing at all hard to control.
Unless you are doing something really dumb like using a chainsaw while drunk or using it with only one hand on it, kickback is a non issue.
Kick back is the resulting forces through the chainsaw when the front and front upper and upper part of the chain is used to cut or touches something while cutting something else - like another branch or limb.
Most chain saw users have not taken safety training on this. It is quick and can maim and kill and results from lack of knowledge and experience by the user.

Unless you're trying to use a chainsaw while drunk kick-back isn't hard to control. It just moves around a bit, it doesn't jump up and try to kill you.
Chaps saved my knee I never use a saw without a pair NEVER

I've used bigger saws Husqvarna 365 (a 65cc saw) and just like my Stihl it does kick but it's nothing at all hard to handle.
