The University of Florida, Horticultural Sciences Department locataed in Gainesville, FL offers a wide array of opportunities for both undergraduate study and graduate study.

The undergraduate program within the Horticultural Sciences Department gives students four curriculum options: Horticultural Sciences, Horticultural Production, Organic Crop Production and Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology. All options are designed to give students a broad base of knowledge in horticulture and prepare them for a career in this exciting field.

The graduate program in our department offers both Master of Science & Ph.D. degree programs wich are flexible and, allow for a customized degree program to fit all research and career goals.
The Horticultural Sciences Department has 57 faculty members who are located throughout the state. They work with a variety of fruit and vegetable crops, ranging from tropical to sub-tropical and temperate.

Research areas include: Breeding and Genetics, Crop Production/Weed Science, Genomics & Molecular Biology, Organic/Sustainable Agriculture, Physiology and Biochemistry, Postharvest Biology, Protected Agriculture.
