  • Shot in an after hours nightclub on the strip called "At Sunset" never aired before

  • your welcome. Peter had a lot of friends

  • Peter hired me as his drummer on a few unusual projects back in the latr 70's early eighties, "New Wave theater(USA cable). He wrote the music to the song in Eraserhead, "In Heaven"

Simon Schuster just published a book by Josh frank, "In heaven, the unsolved life of peter ivers"

I have lots of old 80's Hollywood footage...

  • The year on this clip is wrong, Peter's murder was in '83.

  • THANK YOU!!

I love Peter very much but never got to know him. So seeing something like this is very much appreciated!

PS Yes, Peter did indeed sing the song in the film. His natural vocal range was fairly high - check out his solo LPs! Good stuff.

Oh, and B.L.M. is right about the year below.

  • What's the name of the book?

  • @BuddyHelm

I read the book last year. I think I was born literally right after Peter was killed in 83. I was drawn to his story from seeing old clips from New Wave Theater on youtube- this persons connections to everything I love - from punk music to cult cinema to Harold Ramis-just fascinated me.(same way it did Josh Frank) It must have been amazing to actually have been there like you were. What was this footage shot for? Did it air on night flight?

  • love the end of this, only way to deal with a mouthy tosser

  • The song is awesome!

    I love Eraserhead!

  • in the eraserhead credits, it says written AND SUNG by peter ivers; is that really him? it sounds like his inflections and that odd twang he had, but it's pitched really high. i suppose they could have sped the tape up. lynch's sound designer, the late alan splet, was an unsung genius

  • sweet vid, thanks for the upload.
