  • Très belle cette vidéo.Merci !

  • This icon is actually of Greek origin. I couldn't find a satisfactory image of a Russian icon, so I settled for this. It is the "Virgin Cardiotissa" by Angelos Akotantos created somewhere between 1400 and 1450.

  • No problem! You seem to know alot about icons!

  • I've heard several different versions of this same orthodox chant; however, this russian version, is perhaps the most moving.

Wishing you and yours a blessed Easter.

  • I first came into contact with this piece from listening to Loreena McKennit's Dante's Prayer. Took some research and found that she had sampled this piece. That was years back and I still love this song today.

  • if nothing else, when this song is sung in my church, i KNOW 100% that it's holy week! simply the most beautiful and solemn time of the church year.

  • ‎" 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,Arise from the dead,And Christ will give you light.” "

THE Bible Ephesians 5:11 5:12 5:13 5:14

  • Takes my breath away and eases every muscle in my body as well as touching each and every corner of my soul. I love Russian Orthodox Chant.

  • Wonderful!
