This is an excerpt from a 1969 documentary about The Texas Boys Choir called "A Time of Waking".

The audio portion of the Mozart Alleluja is from a recording session in February of 1969. The video portion of the Mozart Alleluja was shot in the late summer of that same year.

This is the only known video of Donald Collup as a boy soprano and cannot be edited. An attempt was made to overlay the narration-less recording of the Mozart but synchronization is not possible.

  • A most beautiful child's voice and countenance to go with -the purity of childhood and springtime, and the power behind these. Any pure recordings untainted by intellectual commentary?

  • I would really like to see and hear this sung by a boys' choir WITHOUT the ANNOYING interruptions. This boy does a superb job and Mozart would have approved. I doubt he would have cared for the voice over.

  • The singing is beautiful but I surely can do without the narration.

  • Really exciting performance that I love every time I hear it! Bravo.

  • Amazing!

  • technique is not the best, it is a pity, that he didn't decide or manage to hight C at the and (I dislike this version with cuting) but timbre is unearthly. Not female soprano, not male soprano, not angel soprano- simply voice of great Donald...

  • He's good but the interpretation is kind of ... just going for it like a ton of bricks, not much expression.

  • I'm sorry but he is flat or sharp and rarely on the pitch. Really painful to listen to.

  • @BoySopranoLover Absolutely. Such a beautiful voice he's blessed with
