My dad knew Roy and Ronnie- he's still in a folk group, going strong aged 75! I have very fond memories of them and their music. Wha's like them? damned few and they're a' deid!

brilliant . the corries were the best wish i could have seen them live . we'll never see there likes again .

@00thomi I would second that any day. Every time I hear this song (which I know by heart) I feel proud to be a Scot
-
the song's called "Is There for Honest Poverty"

@bigjazzabear Can't agree with you there I'm afraid, Williamson's Flower of Scotland fit's the bill perfectly as far as I'm concerned - ' but we can still rise now and be the nation again ' what word's could possibly be better for the Scottish nation than those? I'm not entirely sure why some people refer to it as a "dirge" either to be honest, it's one of the most optimistic song's I've ever heard.
-
Surely one day this has to be the Scottish National Anthem instead of that dirge we have at the moment........
-
Awesome Burns couldn't have written a truer poem very wise. Timeless work will always be my favourite burns poem and the Corries are national treasures
-
Would make a fantastic national anthem.
-
The Corries sadly missed!!
Well done Ronnie for all the tunes and happy memories I have of you both together great days.

Beautiful. I'm surprised I didn't find this gem sooner.

Roy and Ronnie are the best at so many traditional Scots songs. Burns was way ahead of his time. He was a true philanthropist
