The cheeriest of songs - from Bing's 1949 movie 'A Yankee In King Arthur's Court'. Based on a Mark Twain story, mechanic Bing is knocked unconscious and wakes up in Merry Olde England
P.S. I'll email the lyrics to 78s4FR, in case they want to post them 'correctly' in the Info section of this YT page - which will be easer to read than my 4-part!! posting of the lyrics in this Comments section! (I'll then delete my 4-part posting.)
Great post, I love this song - the movie and song are from 1947 but not released until 1949.

Always loved this song, the highlight of the film. Was quite a novelty to see William Bendix singing. Stars were versatile in those days.
