This song touches my soul and I have never heard it but with a tear, or many. Being of an Irish American /Scottish American family, I have loved this song since I was a wee one. I have yet to sing it at a wake because...maybe I've heard it at too many...and can't get through it without sobbing uncontrollably. I don't know how Sinead managed, as her voice is trembling as much as mine, save her courage.

So honest, and so sincere, and so brave and fearless. Up there on TV with no backup plan.

This is without doubt the best version of this song I've heard. Her pain and vulnerability is almost unbearable.

Last verse; say a prayer and help to set her free, Sinead is not afraid to say what it is about, Irish political freedom.
