@300atsheridan nope you are not wrong, every single model has had a 4 cylinder available, there was even a diesel offered in the 80's.

@crazytubadude pretty sure he was being sarcastic. 2.3's and 2.5's are basically the exact same motor except the 2.5 is a stroked 2.3 and i'm pretty sure, not positive, but pretty sure every year of the ranger has been available with a 4 cylinder motor, whether its the first rangers up to 97 with LIMA 2.3's, 98-00 with LIMA 2.5's, or 01-present with DURATEC 2.3's. all have the same engine mounts and can be swapped with merkur's and 87-88 Turbo Coupes.

man i'd like to get my hands on one of those thunderchicken motors for my 96 ranger. the 2.3 just doesn't have enough get up and go for my taste. damn good mileage though haha!

@StrangerTurboRanger my 91 STX used to pick the inside rear tire off the ground on donuts too... but mine had busted springs on the drivers side haha.
