  • thorfiber has a professional broadcast quality HD encoder h.264 encoder H-HDSDI-H264-E for about 3K

  • Thanks @marcinczepek for the heads up. Unfortunately, that unit is rather large and better suited to rack mounting. We've found that the smaller more portable units are key for our situation, but good to know about yet another entry into this field.

  • Thanks, pls do you know how much the HD Qvidium box cost? I'll like to know.

  • @Nurudin11 I'm not totally sure, but I'm guessing around $5k each for HD. Interestingly, they've EOL'd the SD box and have a new box to replace it called the Analog. The Analog prices out around the same $2000-$2500.

  • Thanks for the info. Am planing to set up a small TV that I hope to send to a multi channel company to air on their bouquet. Can this be 100% reliable? And How much is the machine?

  • @Nurudin11 Personally, I'd recommend using like equipment on both ends for total reliability. The setup I documented using the Amino was quite kludgey in my opinion. Also, the setup I documented was for standard definition (SD). If you want to go HD, then you'd need the HD Encoder from Qvidium. While the Amino is quite a bit cheaper, I'd spend the extra money up front for reliability. Total cost for the documented setup is around $2500 if I remember correctly.

  • Hi, this video is great and we have a similar setup, just can't figure out the amino part, we got aminonet 140 and there is no channel list on that one, and we are behind schedule, do you have any insight on how to set it up, it would be awesome, thanks for sharing this video.
