  • You would just need to strip the wires, those of you asking if you can use higher voltage adapters for equipment with lower voltage ratings. I would not advise this it will almost certainly ruin the device (ie ur fan).

  • I used your tutorial to make my own pc fan and it works great. Thanks!

  • hey i have cpu fan 12v and A/c adapter with 12v fan run like a crap dam slow..... what am i doing wrong .....

  • hey my fan has three wires green black and yellow i took of the green and black and left the yellow inside the pc thing and did what u said but it didnt turn

  • I did this once but my fan died shortly after and smoke came out, it was a 12 volt fan dying at 9 volt. I think it has something to do with using ac current for a dc fan.

  • Tnx Man!

  • @ibear you can use as many as you want, i have 3 running off one and works fine, no lose in power

  • i use my nokia battery to run that

  • i use my nokia battery to run those

  • most of those cell phone adapters only put out around 6 volts and hardly any current so not much of a risk to yourself or the fan

  • This is no hack. Just connecting up a fan to a power supply, nothing more.
