Han Lue's character was in Better Luck Tomorrow, directed By Justin Lin
This movie is not in the same world as Fast and Furious but has the same character. Han smokes in a lot, in tokyo drift Han eats a lot because he's trying to quit smoking. Han drives an american muscle, Dom mention that he was into american muscle.
Han is more aggressive in this movie than in the FF movies.
The ending of this movie makes sense that he would move to Tokyo.
Justin Lin and Hung Kang said this was an inside joke that he moved to Tokyo

Justin lin claimed in an interview this was suppose to be the life of Han in high school prior to meeting up with the Fast crew.
