A basic video of me trying to explain the concept of applying the technique of Mud Stepping to Circle Walking the way it is used in Baguazhang. At least the way I understand it is used. The whole point from my experience is to learn how to root through the heels and on one leg the whole time while the Kuas open and close as you step. It is a beautiful and profound practice that always amazes me in it simple efficiency. Practice of Circle Walking with the proper Mud Stepping technique in place allows for the entire root of the body to wake up - you develop a very clear connection with your legs and the earth beneath you. I have found my body now 'knows' when I begin to Circle Walk instinctively 'turning' on my nervous system and physical/spatial awareness. The natural mechanics of this practice allow for the blood to be pumped up through the legs, Dan Tien and organs into the rest of the body. A wonderful practice I find for conditioning and refining almost every aspect of my connection to my physical body. I hope the camera angle is okay. Always fun trying to look at one's feet and record at the same time. :)
excellent video,it explained what I was taught in my first bagua lesson..invaluable was the explanation of why you were doing this.I wish my master explained it to me like that..lol

People don't realize that walking is one of the biggest parts of Baguazhang. This is well done and explained well.
