Here is the combination Genesis 2/32X hardware, which was to become the Sega Neptune, that I built at home. Damn thing actually works!

NOTE: For clarification, this is a Model 2 Genesis that has both the Genesis 2 board AND a 32X system direct soldered into the Genesis board. Combined into one single case, this was the idea behind the never produced Sega Neptune.

  • Outstanding job, dude. Fantastic.

  • @fletto666 Thanks!

  • hi if your are able to help me pls reply to my video thanks

  • @jerbar120 There could be many reasons your Genesis is no longer working. Blown capacitors, chips, broken traces, fried components, etc. No way to tell without examining the board and, it is probably easier to just get a new Genesis2 and start over. If you do go this route, I would suggest you take extra care to do this work in a static free environment.

  • Awesome graphics, and that sony trinitron still looks great..

  • @RetroGamesDontStop Thanks! And yes, it does :)

  • I am huge fan of this 32bit stuff. i look it up after my homework is done.

  • Great mod!

And thanks for being honest in the video of being a mod, instead of like other vids that mislead that they actually have a SEGA Neptune.

I would love to see a mod by someone with soldering skills (you?), that would pack a SEGA CDX and a 32X into a Dreamcast case. Now that would throw everyone into a loop, seeing a DC firing up with the SEGA CD bios and play 32X CD games...

By the way... what size and model Trinitron is that? Everyone I've seen have a much larger chassis. Thank you.

  • you should see if you can get a neptune style case moulded for it.

how big is that tv? i've got a 29" trinitron for old consoles which is pretty hefty but yours looks bigger.

  • Does it run on 2 power adapters or is it connected so it can run on one single adapter? (one that can deliver enough power for both systems).

  • did you ever try to hook up a sega cd 2 to it an play either plain Sega-CD games and/or even Sega-CD 32X games?

  • @Thematt7890 no problem dumbass

  • @Capsfan1985 Thank you, Captain Obvious.

  • thats the sega genisus
