your best bet is actually using a computer program (there is a whole bunch) to test drive different effects together cuz anything in this genre of music is gonna take time and percise purchases

Maybe I missed it, but you can't get that sound without a flange (or even a chorus) at the end of the chain. 808 type drives after the fuzz to smooth it out will help too. In the absence of Leslies (which David used) you could also try a rotary sim pedal at the end of the chain (Lex by strymon is excellent).
Just a few thoughts! Cheers!

i think you found THAT sound with the Hiwatt. Well, at least the clean tone with the strat...
-
damn...thats alot of pedals

What are you using for overdrive/distortion?

we all ave that certain sound we want, mine happens to be the woolly rhythm sound that John Lennon has during the 1969 rooftop concert.

I've not tried Brierleys myself - they sound v. good - but I am totally happy with my Kinman Blues set. What is it about Australia that makes for good pups?

Great tone. I was wondering what Brierley pick-ups you have in your Strat? Are they the '50s, '60s or '68 set, or something custom ordered? They sound awesome.
PLEASE HELP I NEED TO KNOW THE SONG AT THE VERY BEGINING SOUNDS LIKE PINK FLOYD?

The Brierleys? Best pickups I've ever used or heard. Which is a problem because I've become so used them that I find it hard to use anything else. I'm having two customs built at the moment, both will feature Mick's pickups.
