This is the maiden flight of Tony Withey's turbine powered Aermacchi jet. New Zealand used to use the real Aermacchis for fighter-pilot training before the last peacenik goverment decided to mothball them all. Now they quietly rot away, costing the taxpayer lots of money for no benefit.

Very realistically finished, and also flown realistically. Some of the ground based shots were taken with the camera low. This is a great idea for relism too, but I think the camera was actually too low! The lens should be at the height of a human at the same scale as the aircraft. Anyway, it is a great video !

@GreatWhite85 They were for sale -- right up until a couple of months ago but I think they've been "disposed of" now.

@Drebln893 Many people learn with a model called the Boomerang which is a twin boom jet-trainer.
