A time lapse video of the Messier Marathon in Abla (Almería, Spain), in June 14th, 2009. In the middle of the night the Moon rises (being Jupiter quite near to it, only visible at certain moments in the video). The Milky Way is also visible but quite faint. Clouds appeared at 3 AM and interrupted the observing session. Taken with a Canon 400D with a fish eye lense (Peleng 8mm). 20s exposures, one each minute, with noise reduction at ISO 1600 (and thus the noise...)

  • I forgot to tell you than the manual apperture is not a big deal, and you can get used to it quite easily.

    Best regards

  • Njansen, I'm quite happy with it, specially considering the price. Please note than in the EOS 400D it produces some vignetting in the corners. The effect is much worse with bigger sensor sizes, and probably I would not recommend it if your sensor is bigger than the one in the EOS 400D.

  • alezial: We are glad you like it.

  • es impresionante. me a encantado.

  • How do you like the Peleng? I'm thinking about buying one but not sure about the manual aperture...

  • The effect of watching the stars moving is unreal... it made me feel like I was traveling through space.

And I guess I am, all said it told - this just made me think about it. Thanks for posting this!
