Illidan Stormrage encounter at Black Temple

Illidan Stormrage is the final boss of the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley. As of Burning Crusade, Illidan is the most powerful in-game boss in World of Warcraft.

The encounter begins after a brief conversation between Akama and Illidan, after accepting a quest from Akama just outside of the encounter area. After the conversation, Illidan will immediately attack, and appears to focus on players first.

According to the "Shear" ability, it is apparent a tank rotation must be in order to prevent the current tank from being one-shotted from it stacking too much. With this in mind it is also safe to say Illidan will be immune to taunt.

Akama will participate in the battle during at least the earlier stages of the fight, and when close to death, will automatically drink a potion which restores his health completely. Though the amount of DPS he contributes seems to be negligible, it may be possible for patient players (either stealthed or deceased) to wait it out and watch Akama slowly tank Illidan down into the second phase or beyond.

That akama dude is a really sucky tank and player in general.

Akama is a draenei who served in the Temple of Karabor before it became known as the Black Temple. He was transformed into a Broken Draenei by fel energies.

When Illidan arrived in Outland, Akama swore loyalty to him in exchange for reclaiming the temple. After reclaiming the temple, Illidan became it's lord, Akama eventually came to hate Illidan as much as any other who ruled the Black Temple.

For years he plotted to overthrow Illidan, and his plans culminate in the fight shown above.

@TheIrishEnigma Akama is a dick... in WC3 Illidan helped the draenei out and wasnt even a bad guy but Illidan just ends up betrayed again and again lol
