Paul Polak, author of Out of Poverty: What Works When Traditional Approaches Fail, discusses his 12 steps for effective problem solving to end global poverty.
I believe in one thing: All the problems that exists in the world has very simple solution. This is proved by Polak way of thinking and doing the things,
"Jet Boat Nepal" is an hour-long documentary about Paul Polak's adventure using a Snake River jet boat on the rivers of Nepal. This video can be downloaded from FlybyFlicks. His objective was to open up markets in India to the Hill People of Nepal by using the swift flowing rivers. This proved to be quite a challenge!
The only thing I worry about is the fact that the solutions rely on the supply of water. What happens when the source of the water dries out? The farmers will be poor once again? And what do we do about the poor women and men who live in even drier climates?
However, still looking forward to reading the book and learning more. Simple solutions for big problems!
If we think closely at it, we would realize that the action of giving aid to the poors increase their poverty while educating them about ways to know more about agricultural production let them with better chances of getting out of poverty. Thanks Paul Polak That was a good Book

Truly inspiring. In a world that's speeding up it is wonderful to see an approach to poverty that arises from the ground of listening.
