We're working a series of reports about how the recession is impacting kids. Whether you're a college student or a younger child in school, we'd really like to hear your thoughts, fears, and concerns. What kinds of challenges are you facing? What kinds of sacrifices are you making? Post a video response here.

  • Katie is a fraud. She makes up plenty of her "issues" just to make a big profit. It's called sensationalism. Fuck you Katie for lying to people.

  • its about the kids of the babyboom generation picking up the bill for their parents

who want to continue their life of luxury(and debt)

    at all costs.

even if they have to sacrifice any chance of a good life for their own children.

  • Katie,

I have 49 original songs at BertGriffin88. Take a listen to "Oh.....The Depression It's A Coming On", "It Never Trickles Down Stairs", "Bend 'Em Over Bernie", "Tumbled Down Town", Ain't Got NoWhere Left To Go", "(Not Gotters) You Just Get Got", "Trust Me Baby, I Can Handle What's Wrong", "There's No Way Out For Me", "Always Yesterday (And Never Long Ago)", "Rich Man, Rich Man (Not This Time)". There are 39 more at my site. Take a listen, you just might find something of interest.

  • LOL i wanna dicslap this woman.

  • Ok, well I'm not sure if you are aware but in my province, tuition is increasing, so that is definitely affecting my decision. I see your point and will probably stay in school. Although my comment was mainly focused on how this recession is affecting students. It really doesn't matter what I do from here!

  • Thank you CBS --A lot of media time is rightfully being spent on the economy. One topic that I havent heard about is the impact that a failing economy has on kids. Looking into their wide eyes, we tell our children that they can be anything they want to be. Millions of kids show up to school with the desire to learn and the smarts to succeed—but without the tools to do their work. The Kids In Need Foundation provides free school supplies to kids most in need: 1.6 million students in '08

  • too bad.. my videocam isn't working today.. I just hope you'll have the same promo the next time you have a webcast

  • Drop out and do what?

The smartest move right now is stay in school and study. By the time you graduate - the recession will be less sever if not gone, and you'll have no problem getting job whatsoever. Then you'll pay off your loans.
