I watched the tv show. this movie was a pale comparison. Unlike the show it had no heart. It was a pale bunch of episodes mashed up and spit out.

The critics really hated this movie but if you ever saw the original show, the story, the quirks of the characters are spot on! I really liked it. The original Avengers had Mrs. Peel driving that amazing little British-green Lotus Elan. There was an episode where the villain drove a silver Ford GT-40. So pure!

In every respect, she was absolutely amazing but sadly uncelebrated. That would not happen in these times.

Wonderful!! Never missed the original Avengers episodes with Diana Rig.
She was not celebrated appropriately for her role in this dynamic show. Her performances far surpassed any spy show featuring women, including the cuteness of Charlie's Angels. In many respects Diana was truly a female Bond with all the class, brains and skill one could possess.

@Pattifish Thanks for your comment, yes Diana Rigg was the epitome of Mrs Peel wasn't she, and also a woman of her time too in the 1960s, smooth and cool like Mr Bond.

@Kryptoniankousin Yes I have seen the film..yes I recognised his voice Patrick Mc Nee I think his name is...Diana Rigg lets see, the film was On Her Majesty's Secret Service with George Lazenby as Bond, so that was a right guess of mine, an Australian actor whose voice was dubbed over with that of George Baker because he didn't sound right, that was strange wasn't it, no the wonder he only made the one Bond film.
