  • I've recently inherited a T20, but have no idea how to start it. Would someone mind running me through it? I know it works as I've seen it driving fairly recently

  • @11inchforever If it's a petrol or petrol/TVO one Make sure the fuel is turned on (tap on the left hand side of the engine), pull the choke out all the way, turn the ignition on, put the gearlever in the 'Start' position (it can be quite tricky to find- it's next to 3rd gear) and turn the key to start.

If it's a diesel one they're more complicated (Kigas starting and all that) and I'm not sure what the procedure is. Someone will know.

  • nice orignal condition, should she be startin on the gear stick?

  • @frclintpower: It's a safety feature- the gear stick has a 'start' position which you have hold it in before the engine will crank, even with the key turned. It means you can't try and start the tractor with it in gear.

  • Is that not a TED20 you have, the TVO version with the 2 fuel tanks and the fuel switch over tap?

  • @sting2009 It is indeed, although this particular tractor is a TEA (petrol only) which later had a factory TVO kit fitted, making it into a TED-spec one. Easier just to call it a TE-20 :)
