It can be difficult to clean unwanted substances from under a keyboard without removing the keys. This short tutorial will show you how to dismantle your keyboard with ease.

  • my "enter" key, the one on the side (the long one) got off and when i tried to put it back in, the little "fingers" that you said actually had nothing to grab so the key won't go in. i didn't break the plastic thing but i'm worried cause i can't get it in.

    help...

  • @fettonnino You'll need to get the front-most suspension on first(closest to the screen). Snap that part on first with the wire up under the key then just push forward and snap the back half down; if you didn't mess the wire up, the wire should automatically go into the eyelets

  • So I have an issue. Removed a key and now it's really lopsided...the top is sticking straight up in the air and it's making it hard for the key to be pressed. Help?

  • @glassysurface Try making sure your suspension is on the right way and not backwards, if that doesn't solve it, your keyboard bracket may be bent

  • ah i accidentally took off one of the rubber pieces, what do i do??

  • @HandyGirl90 Try getting some glue and glue the outside of the pad- don't block the pressure sensor in the middle. It's probably not a good idea to be too generous either because you might block the sensor.

  • Hello there! Thanks for your tips. They were really helpful !!

    Regards

  • u saved my life thank u sooooooooooooooooooooooo much

  • MY CAPS ARE ALWAYS ON AFTER QUITE A BAD SPILLAGE ON MY KEYBOARD IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN SORT THIS (THE SHIFT BUTTON IS BASICALLY ALWAYS ON)

  • Thanks for the helpful video - just fixed an annoying sticking "r"!

  • Very clear and easy to understand instructions. 20 minutes to remove and reassemble 3 keys and their suspensions. I was ready to blame my kids for spilling something on the keyboard, but turns out that there was just some tiny pieces of lint and dust obstructing the movement of these keys. GREAT FIX!!!! Thanks a lot!!

  • MUCH APPRECIATED.

  • Haha, the keys came off nowhere near as smoothly as they did in your video. Gave up after four keys. Still, that "pyowng" at 1:38 stopped me being mad.

  • i love you!

  • Many many thanks TuckerCowie! Had a spillage on my macbook pro and searched many forums for a guide to removing the keys without success. You saved me a expensive maintenance costs.
