Glitter, for solo violin (2010) ! This through-composed piece is written in a free atonal style and ranges in characters from ostentatious to melodramatic. This composition has three distinct characters with extremely contrasting personalities. The first character introduced is complicated and argumentative at times. Some material introduced in the first character is developed and interrupts the others throughout symbolizing the heated discussion between the characters. The second, more somber character, is much more theatrical with its statements while the third is flamboyant and playful. The employed extended techniques include double stops, left hand pizzicato, false harmonics, and various speeds of vibrato.
! Written Summer 2010 in Waco, Texas. Premiered by Chaul on November 5, 2010. By the conclusion of this school year, this piece will have seen three performances with Chaul, including being played at her own senior recital
