Demonstration of the Voice Recognition Lab which is a part of PhoneZune. The VRL makes it easier and more accurate to launch your song collection using your voice. It lets you decide what to say, how to say it and what song should launch when you've said it.

i do hope you can get this to work with windows 8 UI. i think it be awesome to launch apps instantly on windows 8. commands like slide right and left would work awesome. looking forward to your progress

@saiedahadi I've only had a very brief look at developing for Win 8 so I don't know what it would be like. However, with the short glimpse, I haven't seen anything that would prevent the technology from working on the Win 8 UI. I'd still need to look deeper though to really give a yes/no answer.

please do look at developing for windows 8. with kinect coming for pc(officially) and windows 8 around the corner it would be so awesome to have this.

I mean that if I edited RHCP to just Chilli Peppers, could it still recognise it if I said Red Hot Chilli Peppers just in case in future, I forget I've renamed that artist? In the video it only recognised CP and not RHCP. Not vital and don't worry if you can't get around that. Just if ever you ran out of ideas for things to tweak. Liking the sound of a 'did you mean'. It keeps the voice control action there.

@cool8man The entire Zune Marketplace is a whole different kettle of fish. The YouTube videos were for songs in my collection. I'm not ruling out the possibility, and I have thought about various ways it could work, but in the interest of releasing the app ASAP, it's not going to be a feature in version 1.0.
