It can be about many things and many types of close bonds (not just lesbian bonds - but maybe Outsidership and Outsider bonds).

They might not be LESBIANS, but there still may be homoeros (homoerotic undertones) involved. While it was not an overtly lesbian film, it could have been. And for some of us lesbians, could have been is enough. Ever heard of Boston Marriages?

I hate it when people say that they are lesbians. THEY AREN'T. They only trust each other. They are very close, loyal friends, and friends only. The kiss at the end was platonic but completely full of love. Not every kiss between two people has a connection to physical attraction. They loved each other as sisters.
