The London mayor blames Europe for the pollution "problem" in London. Much talk about the EUSSR fining the UK over pollution, but who said we have to pay the criminals in Brussels? Get a backbone, stop being a limp wristed Commie.

no, the pollution is absolutely due to buses, taxis and juggernaut lorries.

Cars are minimal damage.

I'm from london and commute by bike. Trucks and public transport let out MASSIVE plumes of acrid black smoke. It's awful.

Seems to me everyone is due their 'congestion charge' money for all those years.

Public have had to pay and the pollititicans and Boris Johnson failed and have not done their side of the deal and improved public transport emmisions.

Its the buses, black cabs and trucks.

...And having checked a few other EU news papers, the same environmental bullshit is a big coordinated scam to get you all used to being told what you can and cannot do, under the guise of science (see climategate), and so that new taxes can be introduced. How is it that at a time when the world's production is at its lowest in decades, there is a coordinated move to strip the masses of their wealth and to introduce a communistic style of global government? It has to do with debt !!

This is all propaganda. While there is air pollution in the cities, this is not the case out of the cities and in the country side. To suggest that cities are so polluted that clouds of dust and fumes cross the Channel and South England and are then detectable as additional pollution to that generated in London is absurd. People are driving less to save money yet the news has been exaggerating this for the last week. I bet they have a similar story in all EU countries. They want more money.

@Graham6762 The traitors around Heath who got the UK into the EEC. They knew perfectly well what they were doing. Plus those traitors around Thatcher in ´92 who voted us into the Maastricht Treaty which they also knew the end game of. I cannot believe that we still have GBP, surely it will not be long before the political power elite decide that we simply MUST adopt the EURO. OMG
