Mare became distressed and needed help foaling her baby that was trying to be born upsidedown. They got him out in time and both mare and foal are fine. Baby is a huge, jet black colt. When I say huge I mean huge! and the blackest horse I've ever seen. Will probably turn grey but right now he is stunning!
@kenanderson1000 I wish I could say sorry and make up for the ignorance of the vet. I hope your heart has healed a bit even though I know NOTHING and NO ONE can replace the mare you had. But don't cry, your mare would want to see you smile and would want to see the love you gave her, to be given to another mare. Remember, she's waiting for you, this side of rainbow bridge.

@Keri2019 With horses, they try to avoid c-sections where possible because the recovery is not usually easy..

@kenanderson1000 I am so sorry! That is so sad. That vet is pretty dumb.

you are so lucky this turned out good for you , i had a mare trying to foal with upside down foal , stupid vet took nearly 2 hours to arrive , by then the mares intestines had come out her vulva and we were holding it in a bucket trying to keep her calm , idiot vet finally turned up after many phone calls , all that could be done was to put her down , never did get to see what the foal was , these things can turn bad quickly ,
