This is Thanksgiving day 2011 video of the large female Red Eared Slider, who is finally eating under her own power again following recovery from throat surgery to remove an embedded fishhook from her caudal esophagus.
This surgery was documented in a previous video. The fishhook being too deep to be visualized from the oral cavity, and removal using hook removers failed, making surgical removal by incising the throat necessary. This of course led to some discomfort for the turtle in extension of the neck and eating, so it required time to heal. As you can see she is not sufficiently recovered to catch her food very well, so she will be over-wintered here.

@wildlife455 Don't tell me to calm down on my own channel, when you come in as an unknown and make foolish pronouncements about shit you know nothing about, acting as if I'm supposed to know you're making a "joke". I'd wager you weren't yet born when I got my first slider. And I don't need your judgement of whether they are health. I'm a rehabilitator and I performed the surgery on this turtle myself, under general anesthesia, so I probably know better than you.

@wildlife455 I don't know if you are trying hard to be a smart ass, or if it comes naturally to you, but this is an OUTDOOR Koi pond of about 200 gallons, which is drained and refilled weekly, after feeding, and this was filmed on change day. An outdoor pond that contains 7 large sliders, cannot be kept spotless, like some 20 gallon aquarium you probably keep yours in.
