Subaru definitely sold me on the AWD system but lost me on account of their 4 speed transmission and how damn ugly the forester is.

@SoundMan1985 Also, I'm not a Ford but or anything, just stating a fact.

It looks like the Ford was going to make it, but the drive braked. Also, the Subaru looks like it's the only one where they didn't brake. I love Suburu's but this test is incredibly biased.

@ForumBoosters thats a locking 4x4 system isnt it? I think this is an awd test...
@arumdevil
Not so. Search for the video titled "Subaru Symmetrical AWD vs. Honda, Toyota, and Volkswagen" and you can see that in this test, which tests one rear and one front wheel, the Subaru system succeeds where all others tested failed. The secret is not in the LSD alone, although it does help in turns, but in the basic design of the system itself.

What subaru doesnt say is only the 5speed forester has a 50/50 front/rear torque split and would do this. the automatic model works just like the other cars and is fwd biased until there is slippage. also the rav4 has a torque lock button that when enabled will also lock the torque split, and so would have climbed the ramp.
