I rember seeing this combo for the first time and thinking how great it would be to land it in a tournament, and out of no where devastation 2009 i see the same type of combo, by the same guy and against john choi

@FurkoTurk0 That's why I don't call it a combo buddy. It's a setup. And it works quite well actually.

The damage output in this game is ridiculous! But I love how broken it is. :)

@pbrubaker Out of curiosity, how hard is it to escape? I know Zangief does some jab, jab,SPD setups that are nearly inescapable because you have a tiny single-digit frame window to reversal before he throws you, and because he can vary the number of jabs before SPD it ends up being monstrously difficult to get out.

@pbrubaker Well, yea. I knew that. lol

that's nasty.
its not 100% . . theres a break in the combo before the grab which can easily be reversed
IoIocaust 5 months ago
@IoIocaust It's a command grab, so no, it cannot be reversed. It might be able to be avoided, though. Not sure.
But you cannot reverse that grab.

@wiggi0620 All command grabs can be beaten in this game by executing a non-throwable reversal move.

@IoIocaust It's not a 100% combo, it's a grab setup that does 100%. There's a gap between when the combo ends and when the throw occurs, and if Honda doesn't negative-edge the throw he'll be vulnerable to a reversal. Characters like Zangief and T-Hawk can reversal grab or super. It's something you mix-up though for sure and not a guaranteed setup.

is there no damage scaling in this game
MrScrubkiller 1 year ago
@MrScrubkiller Not really. There is some scaling based on who one the previous round, and some randomness to the damage, but it will almost always kill the opponent.
