Short tutorial covering Download, Installation & Set-up of Gens - SEGA Genesis/Megadrive emulator.

In the middle of the '90 SEGA's Genesis a.k.a. Megadrive was a main competitor to the throne of 16bit console "king" against the mighty Super Nintento. The competition between the consoles spawned loads of quality games on both machines that kept us entertained through our teenage years. Sadly SEGA did not manage to bethrone the Nintendo Behemoth and its Megadrive/Genesis console was the last one that SEGA actually made any profit on. One way or another, here's your chance to sample the 16bit gaming at its best with Genesis/Megadrive emulation on your Linux machine. All explained in simple & easy to follow steps with subtitles and in less than 5 minutes from finding it on the net to running games on a set-up emulator.

When you download for Ubuntu, Mint or Debian Linux Distributions make sure you download the .deb file as it's already precompiled for your distribution and much easier & faster to install.

  • I think Kega Fusion is a lot better. It's portable, it works better for me.

I hope you wouldn't mind to check it out.

  • i386 ERROR

  • nice music lol

  • @kad3t wait.. cant you send me the whole thing set up?

  • Amazing, thanks! Just for novices (like myself) using Natty 11.04 - you can download the .deb, right click it and open with software centre to install. The sourceforge website is a little different since this video, but the green download button will get you the .deb needed.

  • @Genjyuro1 It is because you have a 64 bit processor and an x64 build of Linux. I'm having the same problem.

  • @tareksobhs you should also search for the Linux and mac game called "Hedgewars" Its a copy of Worms its beast! :D

  • I'm sorry but whichever version I try to install I get the following error "Error: Wrong architecture 'i386' " I'm new to Linux and I like it a lot but I have no idea why it does this. I'd be grateful if someone could help
