Very Fast King Cobra on Attack

This is the fastest 2 meter+ king cobra I've ever seen. Lightning fast and it doesn't play by the rules. What I mean is, I've never seen a king cobra attack someone by shooting up a branch and almost launching itself through the air. It happened so fast - that we were unprepared for it - but, had given the snake enough room in case it did something totally out of character.

This is an excellent video for those that keep snakes of all sorts - venomous snakes. You never really know the snake, until you get to know the snake. All snakes are different, they can move in different ways and attack differently than any you've seen before.

This small king cobra was caught from a coconut palm plantation the night before - so it had been in captivity less than 24 hours. It had just eaten, that night - two 2-meter Red Tailed Rat Snakes that used to be in the same cage. I would think it would be lethargic and slow. NOPE. It was like a king cobra on speed.

Be careful if you own venomous snakes - they can surprise you, as this one did us.

@odsca Jackie doesn't flinch man. I'm not sure what's up with him. He's either confident that he knows the snakes so well, or cocky. He did admit to me he'd never seen a king cobra do anything like this in the few years he's been working with them.

Apparently the cobra wasn't fasting enough to avoid being caught.
