On Nov 3rd 2012 we released a high altitude balloon into the stratosphere. Skylander's Tree Rex was the lucky toy to enjoy the view.

Total time from launch to landing was 2 1\2 hours.

The payload conformed to all FAA regulations regarding safety and unmanned free balloon flight.

The landing zone was 60 miles east of the launch site. Upper atmosphere forecasting from http://weather.uwyo.edu/polar/balloon... indicated that touch down would be in a rural location as intended.

The balloon, with 100 cu ft of helium was a diameter of 6ft wide at launch. After climbing to 115,000 ft, with a lack of atmospheric pressure, the balloon grew to a diameter of 20 ft and burst. A 4 foot parachute was deployed which slowed the descent to a reasonable speed.
