Brittany Anne Murphy, November 11, 1977 - December 20, 2009. An American Actress & Singer. Only a very young 32 years old. This is dedicated to you. R.I.P. Honey.
Actress Brittany Murphy's death has been called an accident, primarily due to pneumonia, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. But additional findings that anemia and prescription drugs also played a role leave several unanswered questions

The co-star of "Clueless" and "8 Mile" died Dec. 20, 2009 at age 32, after she collapsed in her Hollywood Hills home. Her husband, Simon Monjack and mother, Sharon Murphy, both claimed she did not abuse prescription drugs or have an eating disorder. They told investigators she had been experiencing flu-like symptoms days before she died.

The coroner determined that Murphy's death was from "community acquired pneumonia," while also citing as contributing factors, iron deficiency anemia and "multiple drug intoxication."

Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey declined to specify what types of drugs were involved but said they were all prescription medications.

  • I love this song, but for some reason I cry when I hear it. Beautiful rendition John. Thanks for sending it to me.

  • @differenter100 .. Thanks Karen, I cry too & I hardly got through it without crying. I had a sister die at about the same age as Brittany. She had Brain cancer. Had an operation, but it didn't help. Thanks for the visit. Have a nice Easter Holiday.....

    xx

  • What a great song and tribute to the late Brittany Murphy. It was sad to lose such a young and lovely actress. I saw one of her last movies, "Abandoned" and she did not look well. Great job, John!

  • @carann5 .. Thank you very much sis.. I always liked this song. It was such a shame to see such a young person pass that way, and we had a sister pass away at about the same age. I think of Judy much. No one would have understood if I dedicated it to her. (only family) Brittany didn't look well near the end, probably because she was starving herself to stay thin...so sad.

I used to sing that song to my son who was a toddler at that time, replacing words with, Watching Johnny Grow.

  • @Keoniwa929 My mother almost named me Scotty in honor of Bobby's song, "WATCHING SCOTTY GROW". It brings back so many memories. I just received the news my oldest sister died last night. I'm sad now.
