This is the ongoing saga of "Bones" the Eastern Box Turtle. Through the magic of modern technology, glimpse into the life of a wild box turtle in its natural environment. Bones has moved 84 feet northeast of his last location. I found him sitting under a Mountain Laurel bush about 30 feet from his day 6 location. He was sitting on the surface of the ground and had food on his beak--possibly slug juice. For detailed info on my Eastern Box Turtle conservation and Tracking program please take a look at the Turtle Tracks website at: http://www.geocities.com/thesolorover/BoxtrackCMcoin.html (more)
How do you find these box turtles? I've been trying to find them for years to photograph, but I only keep finding Snapping Turtles. I'm in Pennsylvania.
