Working in a Restaurant

Two different viewpoints of what it is like to work in a restaurant. My second video project I did for my Portable Video Class at Northampton Community College.

Note: I am aware that I spelled restaurant wrong in the beginning of the video, I will eventually fix it but for now "pretend" it's spelled right.

thanx man for being the first person to actually talk about the video and not about a spelling error that i was aware of. im only a dishwasher and have worked there for 2years but i hear cooks talk about working there for a long time so i did a class project on it.

i mean i don't want to seem arrogant, but i think it deserves at least 4 stars...not because its particularly great but there is a lot of terrible crap on youtube. then again i did spell restaurant wrong

@Jabbaro123 Work, live, live, work. If you only had 2 people that did dishes at night (usually 1 per night, both of us will work together on the rare occasion) would you piss the one guy off that makes sure everyone gets plates and such asap? Or would you try not to? lol

@Jabbaro123 Depends on where you work lol. We get treated fairly well, mainly because out of all the dishwashers that have worked the night shift, its just been me and one other guy that have stuck around.

What sucks about being a dishwasher is that the chef's & the waiters treat you like crap.

THe funnest part of wokring in a restaruunt is the people everyhting else fucking sucks, Im a dishwasher at the most popular steak house.

I am no fan of restaurant work , but the job I am currently in is pretty good for a restaurant job . Washing dishes is not my favorite thing , but for me, it is between doing that and being unemployed. I got fired from my previous employer which does not take back fired people and I looked for work everywhere else to no avail. The job where I work is generally not that bad and I love the people I work with for the most part. I wash dishes because it's a job and because I've done it before.

i worked in several resturants and absolutely hated it, i washed dishes all the time. one thing about resturants, they always cut hours and labor gets too high and 9 times outta 10 you are by yourself. when their is like 12 servers on the floor and like 6people running prep or the buffet bar, its damn near impossible to get done in time. thank god im outta the resturant buisness

I agree... business is not marriage material ;) You can do both work and school, but MY case for example... I got a full time job, M-F 4am to 2:30 pm... and school full time... boy did I under estimate my potential, it was the most stressful time of my life. Now I want to get a part time job at a Norms restaurant :)
