Thanks, nanderv, for your comment. I was at the empty station, really a sad impression. I did not hear of a real progress in a new life for the train, but everybody is saying it will come back. Hope God.

I hope they'll get a massive sponsoring to repair the tunnels, if you want to let it be repaired, you can sponsor them yourself, every little bit helps

In the meantime, the railway company is in the need of 15 Mio. euros to fix engines, tracks and tunnels. A terrible thunderstorm has demolished parts of the track in October 2008. Nobody knows, if it ever can whistle again.

Closed for this year (2008). Might re-open next year if the infrastructure can be improved and another steam loco made operable. Also a new depot has to be built, as the dual gauge running on the main line has to cease. Search on the web, there are other postings about this situation.
